Krishnendu Chattopadhyay was born on December 10th, 1984, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This is a gifted man who literally spent his life immersed in films. From a young age, he certainly became consumed by the golden light of film culture and so his pursuit of academics in Drama and Dramatics. But in this world of sheer capitalism, a realist like Krishnendu Chattopadhyay tore through the conventional rules of motion arts and bloomed in his career with brilliant commercials, that soon led him to become staple in every household television of Bangladesh. He is a film director and the founder of Dope Productions since the company’s inception.
And against all odds, in 2019, he came out of nowhere with his debut film, Jinnah Is Dead in the very first Bangladeshi anthology of films SINCERELY YOURS DHAKA available on Netflix, was also screened at Busan international film festival 2019, Goa International Film Festival 2019 and Moscow International Film Festival 2019. After his boost in the Bengali Film World, he explored the contemporary style of series production and in collaboration with director Tanim Noor, they created masterpieces like Money Honey and Contract, available on Hoichoi and Zee5. This digital age film revolutionist understands the motion pictures and drama; so, in 2022, like a storm in a calm sea, he directed Bangladesh’s first COKE STUDIO BANGLA season one and pierced into the hearts of music lovers in the country and beyond.
